Why do modern cars feel so slow compared to old ones?
Are they quieter and more refined and you don't feel the speed as much anymore? Some what probably. Depends on the vehicle really.
But here's an interesting thing about the evolution of power output from the same 2.0L 16V GM/Opel Engine after the green party had it's way with it:
- 1987: 20XE - 157 bhp - No EURO Norm
- 1988: C20XE - 150 bhp - Cat - EURO1
- 1991: X20XEV - 136 bhp - Cat/EGR -EURO2
A drop in 21 bhp over 4 years.
Add all the security measures that became mandatory like ABS and all the comfort like AC and the weight goes up considerably.
So the cars are heavier and quieter and the engines are strangulated by emissions regulations.
Thanks green party.Besides taxing gas like it's a crime and forbidding wedge shaped cars from being produced (they could hurt pedestrians more when they hit them...) the green party hasn't improved anything really. An no one in their right minds would vote them anymore. So why are we still stuck with this BS
