Ok, so you've read everywhere that Trumps's ban on Huawei is the end of Huawei.
Bullshit.
It's more likely the end of Android.
Here's why:
Huawei is the worldwide No 2 manufacturer right now. The tendency shows Samsung, which is No 1, loosing market share fast.
Samsung is Korean, LG is out of the Smartphone Business, so Samsung stands alone. They also manufacture memory chips and displays which are very good but expensive.
All the others manufacturers right now are Chinese: Xiaomi, Poco, etc.
Sony, HTC, etc. are done.
So you basically have China vs. Korea
China's advantage is that they sell Flagships for half the price that Korea does.
Now, globally, China will win with their pricing. The times where people where dumb enough to pay 1000$ for 200$ worth of hardware are over.
Just look at Apple, they're done.
China has all the FABS and Ressource they need to manufacture every chip, battery and display they need. And they have the manpower to make them better than the Korean or US ones.
Just look at Huawei vs. Cisco.
Then there is Android. The OS itself is not worth anything, that's why it's free. It's just a platform, easily replaced by something like Tencent's WeeChat platform that is used by 600 million Chinese right now with security updates etc.
The real value in Android are the Google services like Youtube, Maps and Gmail. No one cares about the Playstore.
The thing is, you can access all google services with a Browser, you don't need an App!
So there is no way for Google to really restrict their services to anyone!
That's what every news outlet and so called Analyst got wrong.
So you have China with cheap good phones completely build in China and a giant Software company like Tencent and at least 3 big Phone manufacturers that will work together ordered by the Chinese government against Korea.
This is the death of Android, not the Google services, but Android as a Smartphone Platform.
